A Brief History

    I first started playing "Battlezone" back in 1999. Over the years I have used many names on the multiplayer servers. My first online name was The Father. I used this name because I was and still am proud father of a happy and healthy boy. He was two years old when I started playing "Battlezone", and now he is nine years of age. 

    I had a group of friends in my local area that also played the game and so I suggested starting a clan. FOC or Fathers of Chaos was the clan we started. I then placed the tag in front of my name and became <FOC>Father. Not long after, a couple of the members complained that my name made it seem as though I was clan leader and requested a change. I altered the name rather drastically and my online name became <FOC>Chunks. This name suited me due to the fact that I would hop from my tank to snipe my opponents. Many missed shot left me to get run down and end up as CHUNKS all over the front of the opponents tank. However, our little clan did not last long as most of the members found other games that interested them more than "Battlezone". I too left the game alone for approximately a year due to lack of internet access.

    When I returned with a better modem and a new ISP, I logged in as The Sunaj Assassin. Under this name I won quite a few strategy matches and learned quite a bit about sniping and bombing. My favorite opponent in the sniper rounds was OGC Orbit. We had a lot of fun and I was striving to equal his skill in that type of game. He taught me how to jump snipe and GAS. My skill never did rival his. My favorite bomber opponent was GK Khat. She was the first one to actually explain to me that a good bomber pilot aims at the ground and not the ship. She also told me about the 'target lead position' feature in the play options of the game. I like to think I do well in a bomber but when I play against others that use the stick, my mouse and keys control is ever failing. 

    My next name came into being because I was getting very good at strategy matches, rarely losing and having less and less people joining my games. I decided to call myself 'the Dreaded One'. While logged in under this alias I did surprisingly well at bomber games and continued to rule the strategy side of "Battlezone". Again I lost my internet access and hung up my flight suit and helmet. 

    I was happy to see that "Battlezone" was still alive when I came back to the net nearly two years later. I have been back since the middle of 2004 and ~YG~JanusDread is my current call sign. This name is kind of an amalgamation of my last two. Janus is just Sunaj backwards and dread should be obvious. I was fortunate enough to get invited into the Young Guns clan early in 2005. They are a great group of people and I am honored to fly the Dual Colt .45 Clan Flag.
